Light housekeeping can include tasks such as watering the plants, dusting, tidying up around the house, emptying the trash, vacuuming, sweeping, doing dishes, laundry and wiping down the bathroom. While we are not a cleaning company your caregiver is there to help you maintain a clean home.
An important service that any caregiver can provide is companionship. Some may find as they age their social needs may not be met and living at home can be lonely. A caregiver we refer can provide supportive and stimulating conversation, accompany you on social outings, and provide friendly encouragement to stay physically and mentally active.
Keeping up with medications can be a serious task. Taking them at the right time is important in maintaining health and wellness, however remembering to take them can be difficult. Caregivers can assist by tracking medication times and gently reminding you to take them on schedule.
A caregiver that is referred to you can assist with grocery shopping, preparing and cooking meals, cleaning, and monitoring diet and nutrition. They can help you maintain a well-balanced and nutritional diet, or stay on a prescribed diet as needed. Another added benefit of this service is to have someone to share a meal with.
When you or your loved one is in need of transportation, we can refer a caregiver that will be able to safely drive where you need to go. Whether going to an appointment, event or running errands a caregiver can provide transportation and assistance. Transportation assistance can also include help getting in and out of the vehicle, taking notes while at an appointment, and putting groceries away after running errands.
Walking and Transferring Assistance
As you age you might find you need assistance getting up and going. Your caregiver can help you safely get in and out of bed, transition into the bathtub/shower, and remain active. You may require a cane, walker, or another assistive device to help you maintain your balance and walking ability. If using a transfer device or mobility device is new to you, your caregiver can also help you to use the device safely and effectively.
Bathing, Dressing and Grooming Assistance
Whether recovering from an injury, and only need temporary help, or require long-term care your caregiver can keep you looking and feeling your best. Caregivers can provide stand by assistance to total help with personal care. Your caregiver can provide dressing assistance, bathing (ranging from bed baths to shower assistance), perineal care, skin and hair care, and more.
Toileting and Incontinence Care
If you find that you need assistance with toileting or are having difficulties with continence your caregiver can help. Continence care relates to helping an individual with their bladder or bowel functions. Your toileting and continence can be aided by the caregiver and would include helping you get to the toilet or urinal, manage your hygiene and helping to change depends.
Alzheimer’s and Dementia is one of the fastest growing health issues in the United States and also one of the most difficult to care for. Caring for a loved one is challenging enough but caring for a loved one suffering from dementia, Alzheimer’s or other cognitive challenges is physically and emotionally draining. Using the services of a professional caregiver can provide relief so that you can focus on spending quality time with your loved one. In most areas our caregivers can provide between 1 hour and 24 hours of care a day to ensure that you have the amount of care you want not the amount of care that the agency requires.
Communicating With Family
Inspired SLO and your caregiver, if authorized, can provide regular communication with your family about your care, needs, and status.
